This Memorial Day, we remember all of the brave service-men and -women who have laid down their lives in the name of freedom. Although most of us (myself included) take our freedoms for granted every day, the friends & family left behind can surely attest to the fact that freedom certainly isn’t free.
We captured this image of our father-in-law (a Navy Corpsman who served in Vietnam during the war) reflecting on a photographic memorial at the Vietnam Veterans Homecoming Celebration, which we were honored to attend with him and our McGinnis family back in March. I can’t imagine what was going through his head as he looked at those photos… there’s definitely nothing like a photograph to conjure emotions & memories you thought were long-forgotten. But as for me, as I watched him, and pored over the photos myself, I felt overwhelmed with humility and gratitude… for him, and for all those who serve our country. Especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We Remember…
